Life as an Egyptian-Family life

  • The ancient Egyptians believed that death was only an interruption of life rather then the end of it.

  • They were constant reminder to children of family members they were to young to have noun but still watching what they did from the afterlife.

  • Egyptians households normally had many children because they show the ones who died as well as those who lived.

  • Egyptians families preffered to have boys rather than girls, boys were valued more highly because they could be heads of their own households when they grew up.

  • A married cuople who were unable to have children of their own, or whose children all died would try to adopt one.

  • A dead person could only enter the afterlife if funeral ceremonies had been performed properly, their surviving relatives to bring offering of food and drinks to their tombs to enable their souls to live on.

  • Girls were married off to the sons of other families.

  • Fourteen was the usual age of girls when they got married.

  • Men should marry by the age of twenty.

  • Many cousins married each other, often men married their nieces.
We are the Egyptian family the fact that my mom had many children six brothers and one sister including me and egyptians had many children, also because most of my brothers are boys and the egyptians rather have boys than girls.

My life as a Taino

to flee

Dear journal i dont know how to start, It all started when our people arrived in a carribean island as a taino we called the island Guanahani but the spanish immediately claimed the island as property spain and renamed it san salvador. We didnt have no weapons that was no good we could of be enslaved easily but it didnt happen thats were all the drama appeared, Columbus order us to bring him gold as taxes nobody liked it went crazy taino women left there infants anywere on the ground and started to flee like desperate people. The tainos rebelled agaut they didnt do anyinst columbus's policies, but the spanish captured the rebells with brutal attacks unlish the dogs, bit them to death, grabed the infants and threw them agains the rocks to death, hung them before they killed them there was a priest next to them and pray for there soul could be safe. The spanish were down to burn people alive they didn't care, also their was chopping heads anywere in the body was chopped. One last thing the king and the queen from spain was told they didnt do anything about it for the fact that they were intresting for the gold and land, they ignore it, so most of the tainos were crusified to death that was most of the horrible, horrible sad in history.
